Photography by Alaskan artist Shane Lamb. A young male and female moose graze in the shoulder-high fireweed. Fireweed, which blooms in July, are one of a moose's favorite things to eat. The Alaskan Moose is the largest subspecies of moose in the world. Moose are most active at dawn and dusk. They are solitary animals, but will sometimes form small herds.
