Webster defines “panache” as “dashing elegance of manner or style”. These dashing puffins often nest in colonies among large boulders on the grassy slopes of seaside island cliffs. They sometimes dig burrows 3-8 feet deep to lay their eggs. The wonderful Horned Puffins of Alaska attract admirers with their somewhat comic elegance.
